The idea for the Vacu Vin Wine Saver emanated directly from the taste of spoiled wine – something that its inventors wanted to prevent once a bottle had been opened. The device was the first of its kind within the international market and has revolutionised the wine preservation process. It is now used in over 35 million households and more than 80 countries throughout the world. The Wine Saver is a vacuum pump that extracts the air from an opened wine bottle and re-seals it using a rubber stopper. The airtight vacuum inhibits the oxidation process that is responsible for the deterioration of wine. The vacuum is created by placing a stopper into the neck of the opened bottle and pumping it until resistance is detectable. The pump incorporates a patented ‘click’ mechanism that indicates when a sufficient airtight environment has been established. The Vacu Vin Wine Saver is suitable for all but sparkling wines. It is highly durable and easy to clean via wiping with warm water and conventional detergents (if necessary). The Vacuum Stoppers are dishwasher safe.

Not genuine Vacu Vin I ordered this and received a cheap Chinese knockoff. No box, it just came in a clear plastic bag (not going to make a pretty gift). And it says Made In China, even though the description clearly says made in the Netherlands.

Don’t turn the bottle on it’s side. I’m going to do my best to give an unbiased one year review with this product.Pros:-It keeps our wine fresh-All of our friends always ask “What is that?” And it is always followed with a “Honey, we need to get a set of those.” Then we gift them for birthdays/holidays, because our friends always forget haha.-Easy and fun to useCons:-If you are like us and run out of room in the fridge, and you decide to lay the wine bottle on its side,…

My wife doesn’t have to chug wine anymore to avoid waste. My wife loves red wine. I don’t. We’re also poor. This means that when we open a bottle, she’s had to do one of two things.1) Drink it all at once. This leaves my 90lb wife in a pile on the bathroom floor. No fun.2) Leave it open. The cheap stuff we buy goes bad pretty darn fast. She either drinks the stale wine, or makes sangria. This was a nice cheap vacuum that worked well and held a seal on a variety of sized bottles. My wife can enjoy a glass a day…
