  • Best-in-class wine system keeps your wine safe from oxidation, allowing it to continue to age naturally and pour speed- on average, a 5 ounce pour of wine with a standard needle will take 25 to 29 seconds
  • Non-coring, faster pouring needle allows access to wine without cork damage, allowing it to reseal and continue protecting the wine and capsule life- each coravin capsule will allow you to pour up to fifteen 5 ounce glasses of wine
  • Argon gas, an inert gas used in the wine-making process, protects the remaining wine from oxidation. Proprietary capsule cap creates a tight seal between capsule and product

Nice and handy to use. Love it. Just wish the cartridges were longer lasting/cheaper. Can use regular ones if you save the propriatary plastic tip. It unscrews and can press on to the regular argon gas ones. Only use it for a couple of glasses, then uncork and use the rest when you are ready.

Now you can test/taste your old wines without opening them! I have now had three opportunities to test old Bordeaux wines (1966-1970). The Coravin sample allowed me to determine that each was eminently drinkable which I confirmed by serving the wines to good friends over the next three weeks. The devise is easy to use and meets all of my requirements for a way to sample older wines to allow service witshout concern as to the condition of the wine.
